Project Overview

The goal behind this project is to unleash a little of my own passion and inspiration. These are some of the first more detailed renders of boss characters for a game I’m working on in my free time. Each character is a suit of armor possessed by a soul.

Purple Knights

Purple souls are those who have recently parted with their bodies. In this stage, a soul is confused and afraid. Purple souls will seek out the closest possible vessel to possess in order to feel whole again. The majority of purple soul knights are abstract and inhuman looking due to their urgency.

Purple Soul Knight 1

The first knight appears to have possessed some sort of giant lamp-like object. Two vents protrude out of either side that can shoot out noxious gas when in combat. Due to its lack of human-like features, it has very limited mobility; the only part that seems to have a range of motion is the eyebrow-like appendage over its soul window.

Purple Soul Knight 2

The second knight has possessed a giant furnace. Like the first, this knight can blow noxious gasses through vents placed on the floor, ensuring anyone standing atop of them won’t have much of a chance. This knight also has a closable lid to protect its soul from any unwanted physical contact.

Purple Soul Knight 3

The third knight’s form is the least clear of the three. It appears to act like a cannon that can launch balls of noxious gas at its enemies. This knight has the most range of motion, being able to aim for its targets, whereas the others have to rely on enemies walking into range.

Green Knights

Green souls are those in the second stage of soul decay. These souls have become more erratic due to being separated from their living body for an extended period of time. At this stage, souls begin to build a body that represents what they thought of themselves during life. As knights, they’re far more unpredictable and powerful than the purple variety.

Green Soul Knight 1

The first knight is the most erratic and unpredictable of the three. It moves at high speeds and uses it large talons to eviscerate anything deemed a target. The best strategy is defense when combatting this knight. Avoid its furious swipes and get a hit in when you can.

Green Soul Knight 2

The second green knight appears to have harnessed some magical ability using its energy. This mage-like knight can shoot fire from its head and hands at its enemies. While less erratic than the first knight, the second can be quite unpredictable when sending balls of fire at its targets.

Green Soul Knight 3

The third soul knight is has the most brute strength out of the three. This soul must have been a large individual based on its build. This knight appears to be on the edge of its phase, as it’s the least erratic of the three. Its attacks are far more telegraphed and predictable, but it will only take a few hits to end those who challenge it.

Blue Knights

The blue soul knights have entered the final neutral stage of their decay. These souls have been separated for so long that they have become detached. These souls are cold and emotionless. Their only thoughts are ending anything that enters their immediate vicinity.

Blue Soul Knight 1

The first blue knight is the largest humanoid knight. Its large build makes it a tank on legs - a tank that can wield a massive sword. This knight has incredible range and power that makes quick work of any who oppose it.

Blue Soul Knight 2

This knight, similarly to the green, has found a way to harness some sort of power. As a reflection of its demeanor, this knight can blast cold gusts of cold air at its enemies. Its eye-like soul window is its primary origin of attack.

Blue Soul Knight 3

The final soul knight is the most powerful of all the ones seen. It has strong attacks and powerful defensive capabilities. The final knight is the last of the soul knights in the dungeon and the most capable. It will be a real challenge to conquer this enemy.
